05 Sep Annelie Berner
Annelie Berner is a data artist and technologist with New, Inc., an Art, Design and Tech Incubator headed by the New Museum. She is interested in how we understand, think about, and interact with our digital worlds, especially as these relate to how we compartmentalize information across objects and devices. Her work is concerned with aesthetics, tangible representations of data, and the unexpected intersections of concept, design, and technology.
Berner is the designer of AiryLight, which expresses real-time local air quality data through changing light patterns projected on the ceiling. She has been featured in the Core77 Design Awards, Dwell, and Makemagazine. She has been Associate Research Scholar at the Spatial Information Design Lab and Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia University’s School of Architecture. Berner studied Government and Visual and Environmental Studies at Harvard and is a graduate of New York University’s Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP).
